He stars in Michael Bay's much hyped new pirate series Black Sails as Long John Silver. So it's rather interesting that Australian actor Luke Arnold's favourite film happens to be a comedic one as opposed to a swashbuckler. Tipped as Down Under's 'next big thing' after playing Michael Hutchence in the INXS TV movie, Jai Courtney's best friend and fellow gum-nut mafia member tells Graffiti With Punctuation why the Coen Brothers classic is his ultimate watch. "It's tough, but I think it has to be The Big Lebowski. It's a lot of people's Five Star Film. It was Raymond Chandler novels and noir films like The Big Sleep that first got me really interested in film and acting: those hard-boiled detective dramas. Then that naturally led me to the Coen Brothers. There's just something magical about The Big Lebowski, it's so irreverent. I think you can learn so much about acting from watching every single performance in that film. Goodman is amazing and his performance is so funny and so unbelievable. It's easy to overlook how brilliant he is."
Black Sails, season one, is currently screening on Foxtel.
