How crazy do you like your crazy.. Crazy!! Well then John Carpenter's Big Trouble in Little China might just be the Blu-ray for you. Jack Burton (Kurt Russell) is your run of the mill loud mouth, degenerate gambling truck driver, thrust into a ancient chinese underworld war, with mystical warriors, "black magic" and a couple of green eyed girls.. but don't worry our "hero" Jack is on it and its all in the reflexes!

This martial arts/action filled romp through San francisco's Chinatown delivers a serious karate chop to your funny-bone, some of the coolest/quirky special effects and allows Russell to display his undeniable physical comedic talents. Carpenter again screws every last drop of performance from the supporting cast and of course his trademark "monsters" are lurking in the shadows, Big Trouble in Little China lavishes us with acrobatic kung-fu battles, unloads magazine after magazine upon us leading to a green-flamed explosive finale', so buckle up, as The Pork Chop Express delivers us a blu-ray certain to satisfy the staunchest of action fans.
MPEG-4 AVC, 1080P, Ratio 2:36: Considering this film is 20 plus years old we've been delivered a most pleasing transfer, vibrant colours, solid finer detail and with a clarity not seen on any previous DVD releases. It can be ever so scratchy in a few places but overall it dazzles, this wont win awards but will win any fan of the film over, for me its  [rating=4]

DTS-HD Master 5.1 (48KHZ, 24-bit), Russian DTS 5.1, Spanish Dolby Digital 5.1, English Dolby Digital 2.0 and Thai Dolby Digital 2.0. Subtitles English SDH, Spanish, Portuguese, Korean, Mandarin (Traditional and Simplified) and Thai.

Fox delivers us a solid, robust and impressive lose-less audio track. This is a step up from the DVD release, dialogue is clean, crisp and balanced, most of the action takes place on the front stage but it gets aggressive when it needs to and handles the gun shoots well, with the occasionally thundering bass. Once again it more than I expected but highly pleasing, again a [rating=4]

Its not an excessive amount but there's some cool stuff here, Audio Commentary with Carpenter and Russell, a previously released making of featurette, 8 deleted scenes, extended ending & music video, plus a few more chucked in, the commentary works for me, plus its region free, so I'd be happy to give it a [rating=3]

If your a fan of the film, or a fan of action/comedy or a fan of Carpenter then this is for you, a very solid audio-visual presentation, if it had some new special features it would've lifted it even higher, so as Ol' Jack says: What the Hell.. put this one on your list if you don't already own it, [rating=3] and a half comes highly recommended.
